Marrakech
Al Maaden Golf Resort
An oasis course, with sculptures and the Atlas.
The story
Al Maaden was designed by the American architect Kyle Phillips and opened in 2010 on the southeast edge of Marrakech, in a 72-hectare park at the foot of the Atlas.
Phillips set out to marry the spirit of a Moroccan oasis with a Scottish touch. At its heart is a geometric water garden by the Spanish landscape designer Fernando Caruncho, and twelve sculptures stand on and around the course.
On clear days, the Atlas fills the horizon.
Highlights
Twelve works of art stand along the fairways and around the clubhouse.
The course is set in a 72-hectare park, with the mountains on the horizon.
