The experience
Why photography on a journey
Morocco has been a film set for decades. Aït Benhaddou, an earthen ksar listed by UNESCO in 1987, appears in Gladiator and Game of Thrones, and nearby Ouarzazate is known as the Hollywood of Africa.
Elsewhere the country gives you colour: the blue lanes of Chefchaouen, the ochre walls of the Marrakech medina, the gold of the Sahara dunes at sunrise, and the ramparts of Essaouira facing the Atlantic.
A photo session lets you step into those scenes: a professional photographer, a place chosen for its light, and the time to enjoy it, instead of quick snapshots in a crowd.
We plan the sessions into your itinerary at the best light of the day, and send styling tips before you travel, so the colours work with each setting.
The places the films chose. Your own scene.
Where we shoot
Places chosen for their light and their setting. Your sessions take place in the morning or the afternoon, depending on the weather and your route.
Casablanca
The Hassan II Mosque and its wide esplanade, with the Atlantic beside it.
Marrakech medina
Ochre walls, carved doors and quiet lanes. We choose the hour when the light is soft and the lanes are calm.
Aït Benhaddou
A fortified village of earthen walls, at its most golden when the sun is low.
Sahara dunes
Long shadows and clean lines on the dune ridges, when the sun is low.
Agafay desert
A stone desert close to Marrakech, with wide horizons and a calm, open atmosphere.
Chefchaouen
Blue lanes and walls that reflect a soft, even light, best before the town fills.
Essaouira ramparts
Old ramparts, blue fishing boats and Atlantic light.
Taghazout
White village streets above the ocean, with a relaxed coastal mood.
Add-on sessions
More places to add to any route, as extra sessions.

Good to know
How many photo sessions are there?
Each signature route is designed with 2 or 3 photo sessions, in the morning or the afternoon at the best light, depending on the weather and the place. Like everything on your journey, the number of sessions and the places can be tailored to you. Photography is not included in the sport and activity journeys, and can be added.
What should we wear for the sessions?
Before you travel we send styling tips: what to wear where, and which colours work with each setting.
Do we need to be used to posing for photos?
No. Your photographer gives simple directions, and the sessions are planned to feel natural.
What time of day are the sessions?
Usually in the soft light of the morning or late afternoon. In the desert, sunrise and sunset give the warmest colours.
